HINDUSTHAN UDYOG LIMITED was incorporated on 3rd September, 1947.
HINDUSTHAN UDYOG LIMITED was originally incorporated on 3rd September, 1947 as Hindusthan Sheet & Metal Company Limited and subsequently the name was changed to Hindusthan Sheet Metal Limited with effect from 7th October, 1987. The Company was incorporated with the main objective of carrying on the business of Steel Fabrication, manufacture and marketing of Material Handling Equipments specially Conveyor Systems, Idler & Roller etc.
Mr. V.N. Agarwal, the present Promoter had taken over the Management of the Company from erstwhile Promoters and became the Director on 1st November, 1972 by acquiring majority stake in the Share Capital of the Company.
The name of the Company was changed to HindusthanUdyog Limited with effect from 1st May, 1995.
The Company is a Public Limited Listed Company and its shares (comprising of 61,94,996 Equity Shares of Rs. 10 each) are listed at the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The Company's Board of Directors consists of the following Six Directors who are eminent Professionals with experience and expertise in Business, Industry, Finance and Law.
Having in depth exposure to and involvement in steering diverse business and considerable experience and expertise in Overall Industry and Business Management
Having exposure to Business Management and Operations
Having experience in the overall management of the Engineering Industry
Having experience in the Operations and Management of Engineering Industries (Including Foundry), vast experience and expertise in Marketing Management
Having experience in Finance and overall Business Administration
Having considerable experience and expertise in Business Management

The Company is presently engaged in the manufacturing of Alloy and Stainless Steel Castings with stringent quality requirements required in Turbines, Metal Shredding, Earth Moving and Mining Equipment, Power Plants, Pumps, Valves, Compressors and other Heavy Engineering Industries. The Company has manufacturing units located in Kolkata and Nagpur.
